SHARE! Collaborative Housing: A Place to Live and Thrive

About 41% of SHARE!’s residents move in within 24 hours of first contact, gaining not only furnished housing but a path toward employment and self-sufficiency. With a budget under $2 million, SHARE! housed 442 people last year, delivering strong outcomes at a fraction of the cost of many traditional programs.

Support from the Global Bridge Foundation has helped strengthen this impact, including one-third of the funding for a grant writer who won a $3 million BCHIP award. This funding is expanding SHARE!’s peer respite program from one home to three, adding 25 beds and reaching hundreds more Angelenos each year with peer-led, trauma-informed care. More broadly, the Foundation’s support aligns with its commitment to addressing poverty and housing insecurity through practical, scalable solutions.

The impact of this work is best seen in the lives of those served. One man in his forties, after years of houselessness, unemployment, and repeated incarceration, accepted an offer to move into SHARE! housing. Within weeks, he secured a job alongside a roommate, began attending self-help groups, and is now rebuilding relationships with his daughter and former partner.

A woman in her fifties moved into SHARE! housing and quickly found employment while committing to her recovery through support groups. With guidance from a peer staff member, she saved enough to transition into market-rate housing and is now pursuing certification as a drug and alcohol counselor, creating a new path forward for herself and others.

SHARE! extends our heartfelt thanks to Robert Strock, Founder of The Global Bridge Foundation, for his generous donation and invaluable advisory support that continue to strengthen our mission.
